OUR TEAM

  • Lezlie Reeves Owner/Coach

In the summer of 2009, Lezlie Reeves completed her first WOD at CrossFit Katy. To say that life has not been the same since would be an understatement. Crossfit Katy has given her a level of fitness and motivation for constant improvement beyond any she had ever experienced. Her desire to learn more about CrossFit lead her to get her Crossfit Level 1 Certification in June of 2010.

Through Crossfit, Lezlie began to educate herself on nutrition as it relates to performance and overall wellness. She is passionate about sharing what she has learned with her clients and community.  She created Family Table to equip others with the tools they need to feed themselves and their families well. You can keep up with Lezlie’s events by following her at Facebook.com/FamilyTablebyLezlie/

Lezlie is a dedicated wife to Drew and mother of three, Andrew, Lila and Camille.

  • Mike Scott Owner/Head Coach

Mike Scott was born and raised in Katy, Texas and grew up living and breathing sports. Playing football, baseball, and basketball, his competitive nature and strategic mind were developed early on. When Mike found CrossFit in 2011 at the age of 22, it was exactly what he needed. The combination of a competitive atmosphere, the opportunity to be on a team again, and most importantly finding a community he could plug into, he knew CrossFit Katy was his new home. He started out as just an athlete in the gym working hard every day to create a life changing lifestyle. The results he saw in himself, both physically and mentally, quickly turned into a desire to help others find out how life changing of a place CrossFit Katy could be for them also. Mike became an owner of CrossFit Katy in July of 2012 and was a mainstay as one of CFK’s head coaches and team athletes. In October of 2017, Mike increased his ownership interest in CrossFit Katy and as the majority owner of CrossFit Katy he looks to use the gym as a place to change peoples’ lives in the same way the gym changed his.

  • Jessie Strange COACH

2009: With no particular athletic background, this mother of four sons needed a new challenge. The typical gym workout was getting really boring, so she looked into a CrossFit class and was intrigued, although not instantly smitten. She joined up thinking that the WOD would be a nice supplement to her “real” workouts in the gym. She struggled to catch on to the new lingo (What’s an amrap? What does PR mean? Why do we use those bouncy weights?) But the concept of CrossFit soon won her over – this stuff is INTENSE and FUN! She fell in love with the new challenges, constant variety, wonderful supportive classmates (aka fellow sufferers) and coaching! She got into the best shape of her life and got certified to be a Level I CrossFit Trainer. She also holds a CrossFit Kettlebell certification and has attended seminars on Olympic Lifting, Gymnastics Skills, and Nutrition. She continues to educate herself in an attempt to be an effective coach and to eventually take over the world.

She worked as a fitness trainer at a corporate wellness center before becoming a science teacher. During that time, she started training for and running marathons. Courtney started CrossFit in February of 2011 after a friend told her to check out CrossFit Katy. At first she thought it was just like attending a group exercise class (show up, work out, and leave), but the CrossFit Katy community slowly became a big part of her life. She started helping with the Kids Camp in the summer of 2012 and eventually started coaching the endurance work outs. She continues to do races and has done half marathons all over the country.

After the birth of her children in 2004 and 2005, she retired from coaching to spend more time with her family. She was introduced to CrossFit in 2010 by her husband who joined CrossFit Katy a year prior, and she was instantly addicted. • Drew Reeves Owner/Coach

Drew Reeves grew up playing organized sports including soccer, baseball, swimming and football.  After finishing his senior year in high school as the place kicker he ended up playing one year of Division III football at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee before transferring to Southern Mississippi where he continued to feed his love of sports by playing intramural sports while trying to stay in shape at the rec center.

After he and his wife moved to Katy, TX to begin their lives as professionals and eventually parents, he attempted to stay in shape by periodically running and working out at a local gym.  In March of 2009 Drew decided he needed a change of pace in his workout routine from the daily 3 mile jog so he took up an invitation to try a workout in the park with Neal.  Needless to say he was hooked from the first day and has since continued to enjoy working out 4 to 5 times a week at CrossFit Katy.  His outlook on exercise and health has changed dramatically and he continues to enjoy learning more and sharing CrossFit with others.  He received his Level 1 Certification in 2010 and his Weightlifting Trainer’s Certification in 2014 and continues to learn as much as he can to better himself as well as others.

Drew is a devoted husband to Lezlie and father to his three children, Andrew, Lila and Camille.

  • Brooks Fruge COACH

Brooks grew up playing competitive baseball his whole life and continued to play until attending Texas A&M University to pursue an undergraduate degree. Without a competitive outlet in college, he became a regular “globo gymer” throughout college working on aesthetics rather than performance.

Brooks found Crossfit back in 2013 his junior year at Texas A&M University and immediately fell in love with the high intensity workouts, the community, and drive he now felt to better himself as an athlete. His first Crossfit workout was the Hero WOD “Murph” on Memorial Day. After graduation, Brooks moved to Houston, TX to join the Oil and Gas workforce and found Crossfit Katy as his new home gym.

With a growing passion for fitness and nutrition, one of his goals was to get his Crossfit Level 1 Certification and decided it was time to make a big step. In March of 2015, he received his Crossfit Level 1 Certification and has enjoyed helping people reach their fitness goals in any way he can. Brooks has a passion for Olympic Lifting and plans to pursue an Olympic Lifting Certification in the near future.

He grew up competing in wresting and later training in mixed martial arts until he joined the U.S. Marine Corps in September of 2010. It was in the Corps he would discover his passion for CrossFit and was immediately hooked on the high intensity aspect of the sport. After returning home from the military in 2015, with Nicki and their soon to born daughter Kaia, Adriel wasn’t just looking for a box, he was looking for a community and quickly felt right at home at CrossFit Katy. He started seeing results which were encouraged by his fellow athletes and would soon find a passion for helping others do the same, including his wife. Within six months of joining Adriel became a coach and shortly thereafter would fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming an owner of a gym in October of 2017. Adriel and Nicki are proud to be members of such a special community and are even more excited to share and help others reach their health and fitness goals.

Thomas grew up in Houston where he enjoyed competing in all sports. In high school he eventually specialized in distance running and after high school he went on to run track and cross country at Auburn University. After college Thomas took up triathlons in an attempt to fill that competitive void. In the meantime Thomas started doing some CrossFit workouts on his own for strength training and fell in love with it. He quickly discovered that Crossfit was easily the most applicable method of fitness to keep him in shape for his job in law enforcement as well. After spending 3 years at another box Thomas made his way to CFK in December of 2015.
